House on the Keys
“A family with five children use and enjoy this house constantly. Our sophisticated, yet playful interior is the backdrop for continuous activity and entertaining.”
This luminous residence in Fort Lauderdale is home to a large, social, and active family who love being outdoors and on the water. Todd was asked to create organized, amenity filled public spaces in a bold palette of black, white, and yellow. He achieves visual cohesion and utility with custom furnishings by Alfonso Marina and Ferrell Mittman, his own rug designs produced by Stark, and family pieces, like the refinished dining table. In a glamourous yet practical touch, Todd uses white velvet on all the walls to absorb sound and soften the architecture. Other intriguing details such as the sculptural light fixtures, the veined porcelain wall accents, and the lattice backs of the outdoor furniture, catch the eye in the steady flow of living indoors and out. Upstairs, the palette shifts beguilingly to black, shell pink, and gray for private rooms away from all the liveliness below.
