We lost an amazing man yesterday. My dad has foug

We lost an amazing man yesterday. My dad has fought an uphill battle with his health for several years. Watching his world shrink from living in a big house, to his room at Morning Pointe, and ultimately to a twin size bed he would never leave has been a difficult journey. He lost his independence, then his ability to walk, and his ability to stand, his ability to eat, and ultimately his ability to breathe. He was loved by many for his friendliness and sense of humor. He genuinely cared for others and gave back to his family and community selflessly. My success as a person is built on lessons from he and mom. As a family we are saddened by his loss, but are thankful he is no longer suffering. We know we will see him again.

The photo is him upon graduation from Sweetwater High. The second photo is me at the same age. Clearly more than my character and love of beautiful things came from him.

We love you dad.

New project in the works. This project is a second

New project in the works. This project is a second phase for this client. We are working on some new draperies that are going to elevate the space. This room is very dark and we wanted to keep it moody while giving it a modern layer.

Stay tuned for the after. We can’t wait for this install.

I love repurposing collections of things for my cl

I love repurposing collections of things for my clients. For this project we wanted something dramatic for the walls and so using the art that was pieced here and there in the house was the perfect option. By doing that we created a signature moment and beautiful statement in the foyer when you first enter the home— but also added interest and design. The collection works well together and makes much more of an impact. I think this pulls the eye up and draws attention to this beautiful staircase.

The blues and reds make the perfect retreat. Plus, we always throw in some animal print.

@schumacher1889 drapery fabric and the other details are antique finds like the lamps and briefcases.

A home should feel collected, not decorated. I’d say that’s the TODD signature.

Using similar tones and colors throughout a home helps it feel connected. We also value using art in every space. Sometimes choosing a piece can be tricky for many people. So when we start to plan with them we really start by figuring out their personal style. Things they enjoy. We look for art that tells a story, is emotive and adds to the style of the space.

Custom millwork is a big part of what we design. Here, we used a clean design and tiger maple to add an updated modern edge to this lake house. The antique French desk adds some interest. We used a soft color palette through to pull the beautiful lake tones indoors.

I love using some consistent elements throughout a home when we are designing the whole property. By using an extra piece of this rug we tied in various rooms across various floors (and the staircase). It not only gave the space character but created a seamless flow between the levels.

Classic meets modern. This home is a historical masterpiece so it was important to play into that when designing the spaces. We wanted to honor the exquisite details while bringing some modern flare. We used lighting as one of the ways to do that. Because of the unique spaces, shapes and details we focused on designing custom pieces for a lot of the furniture, like this entry table. The outcome is truly special.

Very excited to share the details of this space. The wallpaper is the star here. Hand-painted for the space, this stunning design from @degournay gave us the inspiration for the rest of the room. We wanted something fun and memorable and used the colors as inspiration for the other elements. However, that is something I get asked a ton. With design you don’t have to always “match” every element. The fun and creativity comes from finding colors, textures and patterns that go together without being the same. Otherwise wouldn’t that just be so boring. 😉

So much time, effort and energy goes into planning and designing a space. From selecting the carpets and colors to the position of sofas and every tiny detail in between. It’s hours of work. Hours of debating and reconfiguring. I take each choice I make very serious. This is someone’s home. Someone’s biggest investment. That’s a big deal and when clients trust me with that I don’t take the responsibility lightly. There is so much that goes into creating spaces. Want to learn more? DM with inquires.

I’m often asked, “what’s the most important

I’m often asked, “what’s the most important thing to look for in a home?” LIGHT! To me, natural, sun drenching, bright, beautiful light is so important! It’s something you absolutely can’t recreate or add to a home. It has to be there. I love big, bold windows that let the light pour into a space.

This week I’m helping a client look for a home in Boston. So light is up there on the must-have list, because you can fix almost anything else. The other two big things are the kitchen and the closets. Gotta have plenty of space for bags and shoes.

Every home needs a library. Or actually, a space that serves many functions. A space like this that is warm and inviting, a place to relax, or work, or entertain, a room that feels like home. So creating a place where the owners can play games, watch a movie or even work was ideal for this young family. I think it feels elevated and inviting all at the same time which I love.

A lounge in the making! This historic home has many amazing spaces and this room is truly special. Lots of natural light and a unique sort of octagonal shape. We wanted the wallpaper to be the main driver of the design. @degournay hand painted these branches to fit the space so no limb, flower or bird is cut. It creates a magnificent effect. And of course we needed some leopard elements (my favorite) I can’t wait to get the furniture installed here too. Stay tuned for that!
